In 2016 the Bridge City Needlearts Guild celebrated our 20 year anniversary. The guild was started by a few ladies who wanted to get together and stitch and then they decided to start a chapter. Twenty years later and we have a membership of 30 and still enjoy getting together to stitch.
Once a year we have a workshop and bring in a teacher from other guilds and countries. We have had Hazel Blomkamp from South Africa to teach us needlelace. We have had many other teachers and have learned new techniques and enjoyed each one. We also have at least 2 mini workshop a year where a member of the guild will teach a new technique that we all need to know.
We also have a display of our stitching once a year at Circle Centre Mall for six weeks and each Saturday we have members who sit and stitch during the display. We have a stitch in public day and also have demos at our exhibition and a display of our stitching. There are a number of stitching days where members meet to stitch and some of these are also open to the public.
