Summer Challenges & Summer Stitching

Summer Challenges

Our regular meetings are done until September so now it's time to kick back, relax and stitch. At our last meeting members showed their completed monograms.

Summer Challenge

Our Summer Challenge this year is a cross-stitched Quaker ball stitched on 28-, 32-, or 40-count fabric. Members need to have the cross-stitching completed by the September meeting then we'll have a Mini-Workshop in November to assemble them. It should be a fun project.

UFO Challenge

How many UFO's (UnFinished Objects) do you have? Each summer we choose one UFO from the projects we have in progress and make a commitment to finish it by the September meeting. Members bring their completed UFO to the September meeting and their names are entered in a draw for a prize.

Summer Stitching

We don't have our Wednesday General Meetings in July and August but that doesn't mean we don't get together to stitch. Our Saturday Stitch-ins at Sobey's continue throughout the summer. We meet in the Community Room at the Sobey's in Stonebridge the first Saturday of the month from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Come for an hour, come for the day, everyone is welcome. If you want to make some progress on a project or need help this is the place to be. Stitch-in dates are:

  • July 7
  • July 21
  • August 4
  • August 18

We're also now stitching on Thursdays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm in the Community Room at the Sobey's on the corner of 8th Street and Cumberland Avenue. These stitch-ins will continue throughout the Summer and into the Fall. Everyone is welcome.

Hope to see you there.

As well, our Thursday evening stitch-ins (7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Preston Park II) continue throughout the summer.

Happy Summer Stitching Everyone!
